Is life worth living? Everyone wants a better version of themselves. Although, when we are in despair it is almost impossible to see. Whether it is alcohol, drugs, low self-esteem, or some type of mental illness that is blocking your reality, it can be overcome.
For myself, the darkness was so overwhelming that it took a lot of hard work and the love of others to finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. This was the beginning of hope.
When this happened I was able to start learning. One of my first books was written by Loise Hay called You Can Heal Your Life. She was a Science of Mind minister. This led me to study Ernest Holmes, who is the founder of Science of Mind. He would become my mentor and a figure who would help change my life.
Remember that without others I would have been lost. New friends will help you thru the darkness. I received Love from the most unexpected people.
One of the most important lessons I learned when I got my first Ernest Holmes book How to Change Your Life was "My thought is in control of my experience and I can direct my thinking".
This opened my mind to infinite possibilities. I studied everything Ernest Holmes had to teach and it was like a miracle how my mind absorbed the material and how my understanding of it was immediate.
After studying Science of Mind for years I became a SOM Minister. Thru out this entire time, my life improved and my relationships became better. It was not easy but it was worth it. Here I am able to help others. Helping others was the key to my growth. We must help those who need it and are willing to make the changes. You cannot help someone who does not want to get better. You can only be a conduit to those who want to see the truth.
In the SOM text, it starts like this: "If we traced man's history back into the dim past we should come to a place where he did not consciously know himself. We should come to a place where Instinctive Man alone existed; for the self-conscious man had not yet evolved.
Nothing can be more apparent than that man, as he now appears, is the result of growth and unfoldment. But in order to unfold, he had to have something from which to unfold, and since he is intelligent, he must have unfolded from an intelligent cause.
Instinctive Man, then, means that Inner Something, or Life, which we do not see but which is, of course, there. We might say that Instinctive Life is God in man, or the idea of God, working through man. But if Instinctive Man is an idea of God, why is he not perfect? The answer is that he is perfect, but that as soon as individuality is evolved he must be left alone to discover himself. Even God could not make a mechanical Individuality. If man is created with the attributes of self-choice and free will, he must be let alone to make the great discovery for himself."
Is Life Worth Living? It is up to you. I promise if you do the hard work and trust that it will get better it will. Have the strength to try. Only surround your self with those who want you to get better. Leave all the others alone, they are not needed in your life. They provide you with nothing for your higher good. I leave you with this affirmation:
"I draw my Good to me as I travel along the Way of Life, and nothing can keep It from me.
My Good will always follow me.
I accept the Good and rejoice that it is with me.
I accept the Good."
