Gods Gift To Us

by Rev. Carol

Gods greatest gift to man is the power of thought, through which he can incorporate into his consciousness the mind of God. Locked within the super consciousness of man are the answers to all the problems and the secrets to all the mysteries that mankind will ever face.

Man is a thinking being. The very word man comes from the ancient Sanskrit word, which literally means To Think.

Thinking man has the possibility of knowing God and expressing the wisdom of Divine Mind. Man is the greatest concentration of divine energies in the Universe. He is the greatest natural resource. The world of possibilities within man is still the great frontier.

Jesus was the Christopher Columbus of the soul. He crossed the frontier of the mind and discovered a new world within Himself. He realized that man has the responsibility, and man needed to stay focused on the mind of God, so that the Heaven of innate possibilities could unfold into expression.

He realized that the mind is the bridge between man and the Infinite, and that the important element in religion is not simply feeling, but man's thought and attitudes. Jesus was rebellious at heart. He wanted to set the world on fire, to change the old order and to establish the kingdom of righteousness on earth. However, His was a spiritual revolution. He had no desire to overthrow governments. His objective was to change thought.

We do not know much about the God potential in man but we see the love, joy and radiance in the faces of people, and we saw it in the life of Jesus. Within the very nature of man, every man, there is a stored up substance of divine energy, like the coal in the earth, which may be stirred up and released to illumine the lives and light the way of men. When you read of listen to spiritual concepts you may once and a while get a concept that excites you, at that point in time get still and reflect quietly upon it until something happens in you.

Jesus knew that the Spirit in man is a miracle-working power. He knew that we do not experience this power because we make it too hard for the Spirit to express. We judge the world and ourselves by appearance. We measure man's possibilities by his past experience rather than by his potentiality. God can work a miracle for you, if you do not make it too hard for him. This is what Jesus was saying over and over. Know the truth about yourself, about the indwelling potential of your own divinity. Know the divine law and open your inner eye to see life from a highest dimension. Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

All communication with God begins in the mind. There is a moment when you can say no to every problem that comes to you. Deal with the thought of fear quickly, and affirm I am a spiritual being and therefore I will not accept any thought of negativity. All lack and financial difficulty being in the mind.

When the earliest experience of anxiety or concern or fear or worry about money or work comes to mind, right then say no to the chain of negative thought. Then say yes to God, to good, to abundance, to you personal security. Affirm, I agree with God. The danger is when we let these fears and worrisome thoughts simmer in our minds.

We need to be stern with ourselves. We must take action immediately. Stand up and speak the word of Peace to the storms of human thought.

This is portrayed in the story of Jesus with His disciples on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus was asleep in the boat when the storm came up. The disciples were fearful, sot they awakened Jesus and said, Master carest thou not that we perish? Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace be still And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it ye have not faith? This story revels the power of the law of agreement, Jesus was the Master of the situation. He was Master of his own thought. He agrees with God always. He kept himself in tune, in a state of spiritual unity with God. And this was accomplished by the discipline of frequent periods of meditation. Thus in a crisis He was prepared, because he was pre-prayed.

Note: Jesus didn't say well, now, boys, lets not get too excited. Things are never as bad as they seem. Well pull thought this thing somehow. He did not entertain the thought of danger at all. He did not let the storm have a negative place in his mind in any way as something to be worried about. In perfect agreement with God he simply spoke the strong word of power, and the storm subsided.

Jesus always shows the highest and most absolute goal toward which we must reach. We are all on the path, but we may have a long way to go to reach this high goal .Possibly, some of us in the situation of the storm, even through faith, might be looking to the situation of the lifeboats as our means of escape. And, if that is our level on consciousness, then this some law of agreement will work for us too. We will be free from worry of fear as we make our careful preparation to abandon ship, or we may calmly bail the water out of the boat, or send our SOS on short wave radio. Agree with thine adversary quickly, remembering that the adversity is not the person of situation that stands before us, but your reaction to or feeling about it. It has been said, Things may happen around you, and things may happen to you, but the only things that really count are the things that happen in you.

We can't always control what happens to us. But we can control what we thing about what happens and what we are thinking is our life at any particular moment. Remember thought is creative and what we think we co-create through God.
