The Truth About Love

This article on love may not be what you expected. Do we really feel love or is it an illusion. Do you like the concept of it or is it a part of your being. We all fall short of what one might think of as spiritually enlightened. No one is perfect not even those One might think of as perfect like Mother Teresa, Jesus, Socrates, or any number of wonderful spiritual teachers. All we can really do is strive to be our best and when we fall get up and try again.

Really knowing self sacrifice, forgiveness and the ability to look at anyone or anything and see God alludes most of us.

I do not believe love can be described in something so insignificant as a word.

The dictionary says this:

  • an intense feeling of deep affection: babies fill parents with intense feelings of love.
  • their love for their country.

This might be the closest meaning for what I am trying to express. Love is just a word that gets overused to the point that it loses meaning. You may love your shoes, car, bike, job. How often do you use this word. Has it lost meaning to you.

This is not the Love I want you to understand.

Article On Love
Is dedicated to a woman who was one of the influences that helped me to realize what love really is.
Rosa gave her life in an act of love.

"Where there is love there is life."

Mahatma Gandhi

Metaphysics-For-Better-Living is a teaching website and this article on love is about how our creator set in motion the laws of the universe and in which LOVE is the key to our understanding of these laws and our spiritual growth while we are in this world.

Romans 13:10: Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

The truth about love is not a difficult thing to understand.

Love someone else by doing for them and expecting nothing in return.

It is your heart, the place where all things start and end.

Ernest Holmes the Founder of Science of Mind said: "Listen not to your mind but to your heart. For that is where God/Spirit speaks from."

How many of us take the time to view the world as a good place. We can always find something wrong if we look.

Do we look for all the good. I believe we learned everything we ever needed to know in kindergarten. That is to be kind, gentle and given of yourself. We had a contagious outlook on life with the imagination that anything was possible. I have experienced parents yelling at their children, hitting them and treating them like they are nothing. Our children are our future. Do you not want them to grow up better than we did. Let them experience the Love and closeness that maybe some of us did not. We tell our children and friends what they should think and not let them grow on their own. We cannot grow without making mistakes and learning from them.

Let children be themselves and encourage their openness and innocence to flourish into the unique individuals they are.

I grew up in a very controlling environment and can see the difference when there is a closeness and unconditional Love that is given. I have experienced families that give this Love. I see the innocence that a child can grow up with and the Love they spread and the closeness of a family even when the children are grown. I see the love they give their parents and they have a willingness to learn and accept. That is missing in many families and relationships.

Rainbow Bridge is a wonderful poem that will touch your heart. I believe this is how we should feel about our world. The feeling I get from reading this brings tears to my eyes. That feeling I wish to feel at all times.

Louise Hay You can heal your life  was an important author in my life. It was one of the first books I read and it set me on the journey I am still on today.

“When we expand our thinking and beliefs our love flows freely. When we contract we shut ourselves off. Can you remember the last time when you were in love? Your heart went ahhh!! It was such a wonderful feeling. It is the same with loving yourself except that you will never leave once you have your love for yourself. Its with you for the rest of your life, so you want to make it the best relationship that you can have.”

If I want to live in a peaceful world, then it is up to me to make sure that I am a peaceful person. No matter how others behave, I keep peace in my heart. I declare peace in the midst of chaos or madness. I surround all difficult situations with peace and love.

― Louise L Hay
